Happy Labor Day! In Genesis 14:18-24 we are able to read and be inspired by the life of Abram, God's friend. V. 21, "Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, 'Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself." Please pay attention to Abram's response: V. 23, "I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich'- When is the last time any of us have witnessed anyone acting like Abram?
This writer is always amazed at the clarity of God's Word! In the last 20-30 years good character has been on the downward slide. In fact the US recession can be partly attributed to bad character! From the US Presidents to migrant workers, people have not been acting like God would, as in the above passage! This writer would like to challenge all of us to improving our character through the reading and study of the Bible!!!!!!!!!! Allow God's Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us in our actions each and every day! Writer of Blog, Jim Kultau
